Empowerment Through Sport
We are passionate about the collaborative power of sport, and we are proud to offer our state-of-the-art facilities not only to our pupils, but for children across the local community. Enabling access to these facilities to the wider community is something we strongly believe in, as we look to empower all young people to pursue their hobbies, develop their sporting talent, and have fun as they collaborate with similarly-minded peers in the best possible environment.
Sports Play Days
Our Sports Play Days enable children in our community who may not have access to professional facilities to enhance their PE and extracurricular experience by utilising the Foundation's facilities.
These events also enable children with competition-level aspirations to compete with similarly abled peers and further their skillset, while outreach to Physical Education teaching provides professional development opportunities for teachers and promotes the sharing of best practise across the Warwickshire education sector.
Sports Festivals
Warwick School has proudly hosted a series of hockey festivals, inviting over 200 year 5’s and 6’s from local schools across Warwickshire and Leamington. During these festivals, children are invited to a non-competitive day of workshops led by specialist coaches where they are empowered to develop their hockey skills and engage in a series of mini-play-offs against each other and Foundation students.
Warwick School also host rugby tournaments, giving local clubs a space to compete in friendly tournaments against each other in pre-season.
Sports Outreach
In addition to supporting the pursuit of sport through the use of our grounds, we have been able to deliver sports sessions to CV34 primary schools through the appointment of a Sports Outreach Officer - Mr Thorne - who attends three local schools per week and leads a variety of PE sessions to multiple year groups in each school.
The support provided to the children is tailored to each school's need and sporting ability - this ensures that each lesson is delivered in a way that will benefit the maximum number of pupils, and enables these children to receive maximum benefit from the sessions depending on their current ability.
