The concert, produced by Hambletts and Foundation partners Orchestra of the Swan, celebrates Thomas Hardy in his own words; poetry, novels, and the music he loved so much, and combines British composers and contemporary folk.

Featuring music by Holst, Warlock, and Purcell, the professional Swan orchestra will once again put on a show-stopping performance.

As part of the rest of this season’s concerts at Warwick Hall, we also look forward to two more concerts after 'A Beautiful Thread'.

In particular, we look forward to Elements on 20 March, where our pupils will have the truly unique and valuable opportunity to perform side-by-side with the Swan's orchestra. As part of this side-by-side performance, the concert will feature the first ever performance of Air, a piece which has been exclusively commissioned by David Gordon and jazz Saxophonist Time Whitehead for this performance. Last season, our pupils put on a fantastic performance side-by-side with the Swan at ‘Pictures at an Exhibition’, which also featured Jeneba Kanneh-Mason; we can’t wait to hear this year’s performance from some of our most gifted musicians.

The 2024-25 season ends on 19 June with Interstellar, which sees Anton Lesser return once again to narrate readings about the cosmos from the last 2000 years - from the Bible, Ptolemy, and Galileo through to Albert Einstein, Neil Armstrong, and Stephen Hawking. Also featuring musical pieces such as Canticles of the Sky 1. Sky with Four Suns and Holst’s The Planets, this is a breathtaking new way to experience a well-known masterpiece.
