I will always be grateful to Kingsley for the incredible support and flexibility they gave me musically, academically and pastorally in achieving my goals.

I attended Kingsley Sixth form 2020 - 2022. I took Music, Maths and Chemistry A levels and my A* AA results allowed me to take up my place at Selwyn College University of Cambridge to study Music. I’m now in the 3rd year of my course and will graduate in July 2025. I’m really enjoying the diverse nature of my course and the incredible musical opportunities that Cambridge offers. I was really pleased to be awarded the Williamson Prize for Music Performance in my first year and then to perform the Strauss Oboe Concerto with the Cambridge Graduate Orchestra in my second year.

Kingsley provided me with incredible support as I navigated the route to university. The Head of Music, Mr Julian Smith, helped enormously with advice regarding essays I had to submit to Cambridge prior to my interview and with the harmonisation of Bach Chorales that were part of the interview itself. He also arranged a mock interview for me with a colleague of his who had studied at Oxford. Mrs Morgan, the head of sixth form was also incredibly helpful regarding my personal statement and in advising on various bursaries I could apply for and in writing references for me.

My fondest memories of Sixth form are the Christmas, Easter and Summer Concerts where I played oboe solos. The Concerts were always such happy occasions and a wonderful opportunity for me to perfect my performance skills. I also had the opportunity during sixth form to perform in an oboe masterclass with the oboist George Caird as part of a joint project with Kings High School.

When I graduate I intend to study for my Masters in Oboe Performance at The Royal Academy of Music in London. I will audition for this in December. I am hoping to become a professional oboist in a leading UK Orchestra.
