Warwick Schools Foundation’s Oxbridge pathway is incredibly beneficial in facilitating independent thought and originality in all individuals that take up this opportunity.
At Warwick, I had a somewhat unusual A-Level experience. I initially studied four subjects — French, Music, Latin and Drama — before deciding that music conservatoire was the route I wanted to pursue and subsequently dropping to just two A-Levels, to facilitate more practice time. I focused my efforts on extra-curricular opportunities, such as composing a piece for performance at the Royal Albert Hall in Lower Sixth, or conducting the whole school musical production of Les Mis in Upper Sixth. Both were unforgettable experiences that still hold up as highlights in my life.
Throughout my time at Kingsley Sixth Form… I had a goal to earn a swimming scholarship to a university in the USA. I was supported the entire time…I was provided with all the resources I needed to be successful in both school and sport.
King’s gave me the opportunity to realise what career I wanted to pursue, and the resources to begin the first steps on that pathway beyond sixth form.
Warwick had a wealth of resources to help along the way…chatting to Mr Perry and Miss Gurnett about material to use, talking about plays that we'd seen… they were always available to run through monologues in the studio at lunchtime or after school.
During my time at King's Sixth Form, Ms Gilbert provided me with a lot of support. She helped to me prepare for interviews and find a suitable apprenticeship pathway for me.
Warwick School Sixth Form sparked my interest in international affairs, both inside and outside of the classroom.
The interdisciplinary opportunities offered by King’s enriched both my academic journey and extracurricular engagement, fostering a level of dedication which continues to help me reach my goals.
I had an amazing experience at Warwick School Sixth Form, where I developed the skills, knowledge and confidence necessary for a successful career in medicine.
The support from the higher education staff and music teachers at King's was invaluable when it came to pursuing my passions and making my university application… my music teachers encouraged academic discussions that transcended the curriculum, simultaneously fuelling my love of music and giving me crucial interview practice.
I will always be grateful to Kingsley for the incredible support and flexibility they gave me musically, academically and pastorally in achieving my goals.
